In the United States, interveners are not recognized as licensed professionals as they are in Canada. Interveners in the United States are often privately funded.  So, providing an intervener for a child in Kingwood, Texas, becomes the sole responsibility of the family.  Lauren's family has been working to pay for it themselves.
